Our City

Antofagasta is a port city located about 1.100 kilometers north from Santiago de Chile. It is the capital of the Antofagasta Region and has a population of 350.000.

Our city is known for being the mining capital of the country, and has the highest GDP per capita of Chile. It is located in the middle of the Atacama Desert, the driest place on earth.

Touristic Attractions

Antofagasta is represented by its natural monument La Portada, but its other architectonic monuments such as the saltpeter pier Melbourne-Clark, the former Customs buildings, the former train station, and the Huanchaca Foundry Ruinsthat draw great attention every day.

San Pedro de Atacama is one of the places in Chile that attracts the most tourists, both nationals and internationals.It is a little town with a great touristic hub and with the Licancabur Volcano in the background welcoming visitors. From here, you can go to the beautiful and unique Moon Valley and Tatio Geysers.

Around San Pedro de Atacama, it is possible to find many historical and folkloric interesting towns, for example Toconao, Chiu Chiu, Caspana and Toconce.

In the same area, it is the Atacama Salt Marsh, the biggest in the country, around which many Andean towns are located.
